The Sonifier® induces cell disruption, homogenization, and emulsification through cavitation (the rapid formation and collapsing of vapor bubbles), created by ultrasonic vibrations. The converter transmits vibration through the horn and into the sample. The ultrasonic vibrations transmitted through the horn can be applied directly or indirectly to samples, using a variety of specifically designed horns, tips, and chambers.
The SFX250 and SFX550 are part of the new SFX Series of Sonifiers from Branson, designed to bring the industry’s most advanced sample-processing capabilities to your laboratory. The SFX Series brings a new level of ease, precision, and repeatability with advanced energy and temperature control modes, process monitoring capabilities, and programming features.
Each Sonifier is supplied ready-to-use and includes a power supply, a converter, and a 1/2" tapped step horn (a 3/4" horn is optional with the SFX550). The power supply/converter changes standard electrical power to high frequency mechanical energy which is then applied to the horn where it is further amplified for use.
