Homogenization of Mouse (Mus musculus) Artery for RNA Extraction

Sample: Mouse (M. musculus) artery

Protocol:

Add 30 mg of mouse artery to the tubes from the 2 ml soft tissue homogenizing kit.
Add 250 µl Trizol.
Run the Precellys 24 at 6500rpm for 2 x 10s with a 10s break followed by 1 x 15s.

Results:

RNA yields were compared against two competitors. The Precellys provided a substantially higher RNA yield than either instrument while maintaining an RNA quality and purity as high as either instrument.
