The Sonifier® induces cell disruption, homogenization, and emulsification through cavitation (the rapid formation and collapsing of vapor bubbles), created by ultrasonic vibrations. The converter transmits vibration through the horn and into the sample. The ultrasonic vibrations transmitted through the horn can be applied directly or indirectly to samples, using a variety of specifically designed horns, tips, and chambers.
Each Sonifier is supplied ready-to-use and includes a power supply, a converter, and a 1/2" tapped step horn. The power supply/converter changes standard electrical power to high frequency mechanical energy which is then applied to the horn where it is further amplified for use
The S-250 Analog produces a 200 watt output which is capable of homogenizing samples up to 300 ml. Automatic amplitude compensation provides constant horn amplitude at different energy levels encountered during sample processing. The broadband tuning feature precisely adjusts the 20 kHz output frequency to optimum levels even when process tooling is changed.
Please note: All Sonifiers are manufactured to order and have a 1 week lead time.
